Warhorse (NZ) Yearlings Selling Well
A couple of months into 2018, and the Yearling Sales are well underway and Warhorse (NZ) progeny are selling well.
There have been a number of first season sires presented and our Group 1 winner, Warhorse (NZ) is showing everyone that he can be up there with the best. His youngsters are in demand. So far four yearlings have gone up for sale and all four have sold.
The first lot was offered at the 2018 Magic Millions Tasmania sale (middle of February), a colt from the Listed Tasmanian Oaks and Listed Thousand Guineas winner, Petite Oiseau (by Ladoni). This boy has been bred on the successful General Nediym / Danehill cross which has produced a number of stakes winners. The colt was bought by Tasmanian trainer John Blacker for $45,000. Not too bad off a $7,700 service fee.
The next three lots were offered at the 2018 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sales which took place in early March.
The first lot offered was from the stakes producing mare Volte (by Marauding), a bay colt bed on the successful General Nediym / Marauding cross. He was knocked down to NSW owner J Sheahan for $15,000. He got a bargain!
The second lot was from a half sister to a stakes winner, Jivochka (by Ustinov). Some spirited bidding was involved and the bay colt was finally knocked down to Wattle Bloodstock for $75,000
The last lot offered was from the unraced Nirvana Lass (by Elvstroem), a chestnut colt also bred on the successful General Nediym / Danehill cross. He was knocked down to Price Bloodstock Management Ltd of Hong Kong for $97,500. A very good result off of a $7,700 service fee.
A good start to the Yearling Sales for Warhorse (NZ) and there are still more to come. Remember, he is VOBIS Sires eligible, so his 2-year-old offspring could be racing in the $1 million Showdown, in April 2019. There are some exciting times ahead for the sons and daughters of Warhorse (NZ).
