The Premier Sale is over for another year. A clean sweep was achieved with the lots presented by Bombora Downs, very much to the satisfaction of the yearlings’ owner and Christoph.

Next came Lot 266, a bay colt by Star Witness from Philliann. Despite some reservations on this boy, he sold to John Foote Bloodstock for $90,000 and will be off to Hong Kong to do his racing.

On the last day of the sales, it was the fillies turn. First up was Lot 685, a bay filly by the current leading 2yo sire, Written Tycoon from Street Darling. A slow start saw the first call come before the 201603News Lot 685
reserve was reached. Then the serious bidding started, and the total quickly shot up to $110,000, with the filly being knocked down to Australian Bloodstock Pty Ltd. She is to join either Kris Lees or Darren Weir’s stable.

Last but not least, was Lot 726, 201603News Lot 726a chestnut filly by Turffontein from Cats Pause. She was picked up by Aquanita Racing / Champion Thoroughbreds in Victoria for $85,000, and will be trained at Caulfield by Stuart Webb.

All-in-all, the 4 lots presented made an aggregate of $380,000, with an average of $95,000 and a median of $97,500.

Sally and Andrew did an outstanding job in the preparation of the yearlings, and along with Christoph were instrumental in achieving such a great result with their presentation at the sale. CONGRATULATIONS. A memorable sale all round!
